Remove decorations: What we all love holidays for are decorations, so the post-holidays cleaning up starts with dismantling them.Christmas tree with ornaments, candles, special outdoor lights, stockings… It all must go away, so make sure to pack them up properly – because they all need to be used in one year’s time.
If you want to keep any Christmas cards, pack them and put away with other gifts or presents so they can bring a smile to your face once you see them again.

Fight the floor stains: After all the big decorations are gone, it is easy to see all the leftover stains on the walls and floors. Good news is floor stains are much easier to fight against than wall stains.

It is eco-friendly – without any chemicals used in the process; it evaporates quickly; it dissolves wax, chewing gum, and glue; and is an excellent choice for hard to reach crevices and holes. It works great with mattresses, upholstery, carpets and curtains, on floors, tiles, glass, mirrors and metal. It does not work for itself, though: dirt must he removed by hand once the steam does its part.
Be it dry or cool steaming machine, they will help you out enormously. Even if you do not own one, you can rent it via a steam cleaner hireservice. That way you can also get precious tips on how to use them best.
Remove candle wax from tablecloths: Candle wax can be a real problem if you do not know how to remove it, but there is a simple trick for that too.Cover the spot with brown paper and press a hot iron over it, and repeat as many times as necessary, until all the wax is gone. Clean up wall stains: While there is no easy way to treat wall stains, the best one being repainting the walls completely, one trick is to use rubbing alcohol on a soft cloth to treat the spot. It is handy because it removes stains without ruining the wall paint.

Give your cooking pots a special treatment: Holidays also stand for enormous amounts of special food, usually very spicy and greasy.

All the cooking pots, before being stored away until next big holidays and family reunions that call out for special meals, should be de-greased. If cast-iron pans are still smelly, try treating them with some lemon juice and baking soda, then wash them in soapy water, and dry with a soft cloth.
